Saturday 25th September Annual Dance Show at The Sinden Theatre
“RTRN2 DANCE”
For over a decade & a half Feet Beats Academy has provided students with exciting performance opportunities through the annual dance shows, it is a right of passage for the many dancers that I have taught, it is a chance to shine in front of friends and family.
A big part of the dance training process includes learning through performance. The experience helps build self-esteem, self-assurance, and helps foster a sense of confidence. Performance opportunities contributes to children’s success in non-dance activities. That onstage experience can result in better school presentation, improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities.
The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps the children develop retention skills, and they learn the positive aspect of working as a team. It is the responsibility of the entire community, students, parents, teachers and helpers to do their part to make the show great. The show is only as successful as we make it. Let’s work together to make the performance a magical experience for your child/ren.

These will be particularly important. If you miss the rehearsals, you will not be included in the routine. No catch-up sessions available.

Rehearsal fees are due before or on the day of the rehearsal. If your child is in multiple classes, you can stagger the payments (not arrears). All rehearsals must be paid in full by 1st September. With the exception of whole academy rehearsals, which can be paid on the day.
Rehearsals can be paid by cash or into the business account.
Costumes Fees :
Included in this is the show opener & finale costume on the basis that everyone takes a single class. If your child takes more than one class a week, please deduct £15 for every extra class e.g. If you have a child that is in Street 3, Musical Theatre Sen & Lyrical & Contemporary Sen their costume fee would be £75. As with most things, the company I use for hiring costumes have put up their prices, restructured their company to ensure they can run their business successfully.

What you need for your rehearsal
1.5/ 2hr / 3hr – Correct uniform, footwear, hair up, water & snack (Not packed lunch) If you have been requested to bring anything e.g. Prop.
3-5hr rehearsal – all of the above, a book or colouring & packed lunch. Nothing sugary. No fizzy drinks. No sweets.
What to pack on show day
Costume box with costumes packed in reverse order (You will have the running order given to you at dress rehearsal, Food & drink for the day (NO sugary drinks or snacks, no Nuts.) Medical form. Arrive in Feet Beats Uniform. Dance shoes. Dance tights, quite entertainment, books, colouring. No computers. Own hairbrush. Make up remover. A detailed list will be given nearer the time.
What happens on show day.
Arrive at your allotted time (not earlier or late) Check in at Stage door. All chaperones are trained & hold full DBS checks they will have a T-shirt or Lanyard with Feet Beats logo & License on display. Once checked in the group will be taken to changing rooms & into first costume. Some will get hair & make-up started. We do our safety talk, do’s/don’ts when the full cast is in house. Followed by Technical rehearsal. Lunch & break. Hair & Make-up, just before the show we do our group bonding chat in the big studio in a circle then hype them up ready for curtains up! Its busy, but all the children LOVE the show. They get plenty of breaks between the routines. After the show. We get back into full uniform then go home. All costumes are to be left at the theatre with me. Then class by class we get them back to parents as we have to sign them out. They have the same chaperon all day who looks after them.
Arrival & departure procedure
Sign in at the stage door at allotted time. With medical form which is totally up to date. This is kept on the premises in case of emergency on the day. Collect the children at the same place. They will be brought out class by class. As quickly as we can.
Hair & Make-Up
I need hair & make-up people to help on the day (if this is your area of expertise & you want to help, please contact me to offer your services) Nearer the time I will advise who needs what. But normally stage make up is quite thick as the features of the children get washed out on stage under the lights.
